I listened to Gerry Brooks’ post yesterday on your Facebook page and, frankly, I had my doubts. I’d like to replace each day’s “what awful thing is going to happen” with “what great thing is going to happen.” I was, to say the least, skeptical, but thought I’d keep the idea in my mind. Short story, long: Today we went to Penzey’s Spices (definitely a happy place to be!) to pick up some basil. As we were checking out, the two sales clerks talked about what a great place Penzey’s is to work and how much they enjoy their jobs. One said, “we even did some dancing yesterday.” Turns out Bobby Darin’s “Splish Splash” came over the sound system at some point, and they ended up singing it to each other and dancing to the music. Maybe that guy is on to something after all. Their happiness, shared so enthusiastically with us, was great! So, something great happened today, at least partly because I was looking for it and recognized it.

There’s a Penzeys in Richmond??? How did I NOT know that? I love that company!!!! Thank you for this story too. Heartwarming to hear they love to work there. And fun to hear that you found something great in your day!
